Tarik Nia

the funky poet

Queen of the City

Feel lucky when you meet her
Children run to greet her
Every time she takes a stroll
Just something about her
So much joy comes out her
Such a beautiful soul

She's got inner beauty
Not all fashion, face, and jewelry
Naw...It flows deeper than that
Because she loves each neighbor
As herself from The Creator
Comes the love she gives
Ten times back

Queen of the city
Smiles so pretty
Love's the way
She greets the world
High stepping, styling
Always she'll be smiling
Joyfull..

The magic of her aura
Makes everyone adore her
They know that
She loves them too
Maybe she's a sample
One of God's examples
What agape love can do

It's our Father who crowned her
Shines His light around her
Helps us to see
We're all sisters and brothers
So let's love one another
One divine family

Queen of the city
Smiles so pretty
Love's the way
She greets the world
High stepping, styling
Always she'll be smiling
Joyful...

Look at that queen over there
Silver locks in her hair
Look at that queen
Rocking in her chair
Look at that full figured queen
The way her face glows
Like a hallo
So beautiful...

Heard a blue-eyed queen
Singing Joy to the world
Watched an afroed queen
Teach the little boys and girls
Seen an Asian queen
Dancing in the stillness
Love's supreme
Every queen's
Helping God to heal this world...

I met a sweet sixteen
Could tell she was a princess
Gonna be a queen one day
But there is so much she must learn
Before her crown is earned
She must take a righteous way
Face them trials and temptations
Before her coronation
Gone stumble she may trip
But she'll regain her grip
And walk like a princess
Grow into a queen
God be her witness
She'll know what it means
To be queen of the city

Love is the way
Look at that queen
